Demonstration
Saturday Night December 4, 2004 at 7:30 pm

Purpose:
Designed to encourage children to practice and enjoy roping while giving basic
roping instructions for the novice, beginner and advanced. Older age
divisions will concentrate on proper roping technique and form.
4 to 6 years old ~ Boys and Girls
3 legal head catches
> Whole head, half head and slick horns
Helper allowed
Beginning horn spread of 17 inches
Fishing allowed
Roper must catch two of three heads with no line in order to advance
Roper must then catch two of two heads in order to advance to the Reach contest
Reach contest is sudden death and will determine the winner
Horn spread may increase as the distance increases
Roper may stand anywhere behind the dummy
Touching or stepping over the line will result in disqualification
7 to 9 years old ~ Boys and Girls
3 legal catches
> Whole head, half head and slick horns
Beginning horn spread of 23 inches
No fishing allowed
Roper must stand on the left side of the dummy
Roper must catch two of three with line in order to advance
Roper must then catch two of two head in order to advance to the Reach contest
Reach contest is sudden death and will determine the winner
Horn spread may increase as the distance increases
Touching or stepping over the line will result in disqualification
10 to 12 years old ~ Boys and Girls
Slick horns only
Beginning horn spread of 23 inches
No fishing allowed
Roper must stand on left side of dummy
Roper must catch two of three with line in order to advance
Roper must then catch two of two heads in order to advance to the Reach contest
Reach contest is sudden death and will determine the winner
Horn spread my increase as the distance increases

There is no entry fee.

Entries taken the day of the even from 11 am to 1:30 pm
Prizes awarded for each division - presented at the Saturday evening program
Division winners are required to demonstrate their roping skills Saturday night, December 4, 2004 at 7:30 pm
