General Information  
Name of Award:   Northeast Missouri Livestock Person of the Year
Awards Given:   20” x 24” framed oil portrait with plaque of recipient(s) to be used for public display at the discretion of the Missouri Livestock Symposium Committee. Additional plaque awarded to recipient at the Missouri Livestock Symposium on the first evening of MLS at approximately 7 pm each year.
Objectives:   To duly honor livestock or forage leaders from Northeast Missouri who have made significant contributions to the progress and well being of the livestock industry.
Selection Process  

A selection screening committee, appointed by and approved by the Missouri Livestock Symposium Committee, will rate the top application(s). These will then be sent to the Missouri Livestock Person of the Year Committee, which will in turn submit their recommendation(s) to the Missouri Livestock Symposium Committee for final approval.

Eligible Applicants  
  1. Eligible applicants must have been residents (do not have to be current residents) of one of the following Northeast Missouri Counties:  Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Linn, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Putnam, Randolph, Ralls, Schuyler, Scotland, Shelby or Sullivan.
  1. Living or deceased eligible.
  1. Individual receiving award must have made a significant contribution to the livestock industry.
  1. Producers, agribusiness personnel, agency personnel, or agricultural educators or researchers are all eligible to receive this award. Other parties who have been long-time supporters of the northeast Missouri livestock industry will also be seriously considered.

Application Deadline:  
All applications must be received no later than 5 p.m., May 1, each year.
Photo Requirements:  
Wallet size or larger color photo of applicant may be requested by the selection committee.

All application materials become property of the Missouri Livestock Symposium Committee and will not be returned, unless formally requested.
